Notes from my trip to Costa Rica. Wait, what?!

Yep, I spent August in Costa Rica with Eva Dalak, my podcast co-host. A crazy story that has to do with war, women, work, and the power of friendship. And also God. I'll tell you about it.

So before I share the story about how I ended up in Costa Rica, what I did there, and why I committed the indefensible sin of not posting about it on social media in real time (!!!!), I want to share a few bits of news.

First of all, I’m excited to report that our podcast, Women Ending War, is now available on Apple Podcasts here. We are gradually uploading all of Season 1 to Apple. But if you want to jump ahead, all of Season 1 is already available on Spotify (audio) and Youtube (video).

Special shout out to Lex Rofeberg of the Judaism Unbound podcast for offering a lot of (free!) mentoring and advice along the way.

And also special shout-out to one of the most beautiful human beings in the world, Sally Gottesman for making this happen. I’m not exaggerating. This would not be happening without Sally’s support, care, generosity, and wisdom.

Second tidbit of news: We are now working on recording Season 2, which will be especially focused on October 7 that is coming up soon. We are toying around with formats, settings, and media. But most importantly, we plan to be on the ground where there are a lot of activities around creating a different reality — ending the war, bringing back the hostages, making life safe for people currently under fire, and amplifying the calls for a new vision for this state. We are also going to be experimenting with more live content. Will keep you posted on that.

Third: We already have all kind of videos and shorts on our Youtube channel playlist and on our FB page. You can watch some of our most captivating podcast moments, and also follow the series of conversations that Eva and I had during my time in Costa Rica. We were physically far from the war, but it was always at the center of our minds and souls.

If you like our stuff, please follow us, comment, and share. These things are very important and help us in continuing our work.

And I’m also going to add — if you like this Substack, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It ALSO helps me with my work. And if you really REALLY like it, (thank you!!), please share with your friends and maybe even suggest that they subscribe too… Thank you!

Okay, so you want to know WHY I was in Costa Rica and how I got there? It’s a great story, as I said, about war, work, women’s friendships, and God working in mysterious ways. Sharing in video. If you would prefer to read the transcript, click on “transcript” in the menu above.

THANK YOU!
